UF Ayers Medical Building Renovations

  • Project Owner: University of Florida
  • Location: Gainesville FL
  • Completion Date: August 2016
  • Partners: Graef Engineering

Transforming Ayers

Scorpio completed three different renovation projects at the Ayers Medical Building. The first phase of Scorpio’s involvement in the improvements involved an interior renovation of a former surgery center to accommodate a UF Health & Shands Pain Clinic. Once completed, Scorpio was retained to manage the Ayers Medical Plaza Technology Lobby Renovation. This project transformed a large and dated space that formerly served the Shands Children Surgical Center. This area was updated into a more modern multipurpose office reception space. This project also included a remodel of Office Suite 108.

The third phase of renovations took place on the building’s 4th Floor. This level of the active and fully occupied Ayers Medical Building was completely gutted. Renovations were completed to create an open and modern state-of-the-art information technology office space designed to attract top talent and support UF’s growing IT needs.
