Santa Fe Library Receives Innovative Update

The Santa Fe College Library, located on the Northwest Gainesville campus, underwent a major renovation and remodel of the first and second floors. The goal was to incorporate a new Learning Commons into the existing Library. The Learning Commons is a collection of learning spaces that will elevate the existing Library into the 21st Century with interactive spaces for information technology, remote or online education, tutoring, collaboration, content creation, meetings, socialization, and group study. This new space better serves the students, faculty and the growing technological and facility needs.

The three-phase renovation included demolition of existing offices, new framing, drywall and paint throughout, new storefront systems, a folding glass wall partition, new doors and hardware, acoustical ceiling modifications, new flooring and other decorative design elements to modernize the space.  Upgrades to the mechanical, electrical and fire protection systems also took place.
